Web pages are saved to the database and can be previewed online to be proofed for errors. When all the pages are added, the webmaster can publish all the pages at once creating static webpage files on the server. At any time, the webmaster can edit pages and quickly republish the entire site.

In-Browser HTML Editor

Ascribe comes with an integrated WYSIWYG (or what-you-see-is-what-you-get) web page editor. It works like a word processor. This word-processor-like HTML editor is available to users with the Internet Explorer for Windows and on the Firefox browser in both Windows and Macintosh systems.

Database-Driven Webpages

Ascribe can generate a number of database-driven webpages which pull information that you have stored in Ascribe and display them on a webpage. This allows you to easily keep your website information up-to-date. Here is a listing of database-driven components that are available: Photo Gallery Events Calendar Announcements Frequently Asked Questions – maintain a searchable knowledgebase of information about your church, themes in Scripture, church history, etc. Unlimited News Feeds – use this to allow each pastor to have his/her own online devotional or let each ministry group maintain a “feed” of news articles. Groups Directories – a list of all ministry groups, special interest groups or care groups. The listing will link to that group’s homepage. These database-driven pages are assigned a place within the hierarchy of web pages so they fit seamlessly within the menu navigation bars generated by Ascribe.

Automatic Menu Generation

One difficulty when hand coding web sites is that when you add a page, you need to update the menus for all affected pages to reflect the new page. Updating menus for your website is easy with Ascribe. As you add new web pages Ascribe helps you to organize your web pages into a hierarchy. This hierarchy is used to auto-generate your website's menu navigation each time you publish your website.

Private Members Area

Any page can be marked “private”. This will require a member to enter their username or password to view that page. In this members area, a church member could login and update his/her own personal profile or download a giving statment.

Photo Albums

Ascribe’s image management system allows you to store photos on the server and add them to web pages and emails. You can also maintain a online photographic archive of people and activities at your church. Photos can be linked to persons, households and ministry groups.

CSS Text Styles

Ascribe includes a cutting-edge, in-browser CSS (i.e., cascading style sheet) style editor. These allow you to define custom text styles for your website, as you would for a complex wordprocessing document, to maintain consistent formatting throughout the site. Your CSS styles will appear in a dropdown select box in the HTML editor.
