Frequently Asked Questions
What is data transfer? |
 |
Data in this case (e.g., web pages, images, and other files), measured in bytes, are transfered from the server to a user through a web browser, via email or during an FTP session. The server keeps track how many bytes of data is served (or transfered) during the course of a month. The sum total of such bytes equals your account's data transfer for a given month.
Each Ascribe account comes with a base allotment of 15 gigabytes of data transfer per month. You may increase this allotment at a rate of $2 per month per gigabyte.
Should your account exceed your prepaid monthly allotment, the excess will be billed separately at a rate of $3 per month per gigabyte. Data transfer overages are rounded up to the nearest gigabyte.
As a general rule 500 MB of data transfer is equivilant to about 20,000 page views. |
