Koinonia describes the
intimate connection with God and brothers and sisters in Christ. It is the
privileged result of faithfully coming together at church, in small groups, and
our closest friendships as we find ways to talk about the Lord and what He is
saying to us.
Each of us is so incredibly
unique, possessing spiritual gifts, passions and personality styles that enable
us to bring the “light of God” to those we interact with on a daily basis.
As we walk in the light (our
love expressed in obedience from our head, heart and hands), we not only know
in our minds, “feel in our hearts” the Presence and Power of God. Our
interaction with one another helps us to be attenuated to His Presence,
discovering and developing our spiritual abilities, and helping one another to
draw close to God with confidence.
I encourage you to make
every effort to be in fellowship – faithful at church and MiniChurch, keeping a
close heart-touch with your Christian friends – that is rooted in koinonia. We
all need intimacy of the spirit, and our regular interaction with one another
brings it out in ways that build our faith and helps us to stand firm amidst
the storms of life.
May your week be filled with
moments of heart-connection with the saints; enjoy what manifests in your
koinonia experience!
